Gautam joined ALMT Legal in 2010 with his experience and expertise in international Maritime & Shipping, Employment Laws, Corporate, Commercial & Intellectual Property, Civil and Commercial Disputes, Arbitrations and Alternate Dispute Resolution.

Gautam’s Admiralty and Maritime practice includes both dry and wet shipping. During his professional career, he has acted for ship owners, charterers, ship building and ship repair yards, terminals and ports, hull & cargo insurers, P & I & Defence Clubs, salvage & tug companies, handlers, shipbuilders, bunker suppliers, etc. He has also advised clients on disputes pertaining to bills of lading, charter parties, carriage of goods by sea, ship building and ship repair contacts, PPP projects, limitation of liability, collision, salvage, general average and marine pollution.

Gautam graduated from Goa University with a bachelor's degree in Science in and from Kare Law College, Goa, with a Bachelor's Degree in Law. In the same year he was admitted to the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa in 2001. Before joining ALMT, Gautam worked with leading law firms in India.

Gautam has been advising clients in both domestic and international Clients in arbitration in commercial law including London Court of International Arbitrators (LCIA), London Maritime Arbitration Association(LMAA), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) in relation to disputes pertaining to oil rigs, charter party disputes, ship building and ship repair contacts etc. as well as at all levels of arbitration, High Court and Supreme Court of India. He has been also engaged by several domestic and international shipping and logistic companies, rig owners in their disputes in India and abroad. In addition to shipping and arbitration Gautam also handles commercial litigation.
