Previous work
Sakate started his career in litigation, in 1990, with a renowned Calcutta based law firm. He moved to the corporate-commercial department of the firm in 1998, taking on additional responsibilities as administrative partner in 1999. Sakate specialised in commercial, corporate and securities laws, direct and indirect taxation and procedural laws.
Publications, Presentations, Recognitions
Sakate is a member of the executive committee of the India Business Forum [IBF], a forum he co-founded during his tenure at the London Business School. The IBF builds awareness facilitates discussions and encourages cross border investments to and from India. Sakate has also served on the boards of several multinational companies.

Beyond the law
Sakate is an avid golfer and has played squash at competitive levels. Sakate also likes to devote time to Pratham UK, a charity that promotes the education of all Indian children.
